CÍA. CHONI COMPAÑÍA FLAMENCA presenta “LA GLORIA DE MI MARE”

Men touch each other with blows. An energetic duo about masculine construction. A deconstruction of the contemporary virile behaviour, acclaimed by some and questioned by many. CLINCH in boxing is the moment in which the two boxers hug and block each other until the referee separates them. This movement is about getting as close as possible to your rival to protect yourself from their attack. CLINCH exposes the most toxic masculinity, established in the competition, the denial and the confrontation to all that is different. Furthermore, the denial of feelings, excluding rage or fury, that must be demonstrated through the exercise of violence.
Gloria es la madre de una bailaora que comienza a despuntar en el mundo del flamenco. Debido a su temprana e inesperada maternidad y a la época en la que le tocó vivir, Gloria, no pudo dedicarse al mundo del espectáculo como ella hubiera deseado; pero ahora, en su madurez, disfruta acompañando y ayudando a su hija, protegiéndola y aconsejándola… Y en definitiva, proyectando en ella todos sus sueños e ilusiones y dando lugar a disparatados enredos en los que se pondrán de manifiesto muchas de las típicas situaciones entre una artista y su madre.
Este espectáculo se inspira en la cultura del café cantante y el teatro de variedades; mezclando el humor, el cante y baile flamenco más tradicional, la copla, la ironía y cómo no la improvisación.
… Un homenaje a la madre de la artista. A todas las madres.
